This ruler of the Great Plains once ran in huge thundering herds, protecting his mate and calves from bears and cougars. Some Native Americans followed the herds on migrations, leading a somewhat nomadic life. Bison, or American Buffalo, have now been saved from the brink of extinction, long after white settlers and other hunters nearly eradicated them from the earth. It stands alongside the great bears, eagles, cougars and wolves of our wild country as animals that say AMERICA, and would be a great addition to any patriot's collection, standing guard on a desk or bookcase. Truly a beautiful piece!
